Have a large family room that never heats up satisfactorily and having purchased two furnaces and a natural gas generator from Zenner & Ritter I thought I would seek their guidance on heating the room. Z&R representative Earl came to advise and assess the problem. He was very personable and professional. We purchased a Mitsubishi MFZ-KJ18NA AC heating unit and received my Vet’s discount and manufacturer’s rebate.
Two days later installers Phil & Luke arrived at the door. They put on their booties and placed tarps down to the work area. They explained what was going to be done in language that could be understood. They incorporated a few minor changes we wanted with no problems. The original plan for the 220 electric line was not practical and they re-routed it in a much better area. They were courteous and professional for the entire time they were here and extremely neat and well mannered. After installation, Phil reviewed how to operate the unit and answered all of my questions. Paid by check with no problem.
I was not happy with review/feedback procedure. Z&R wanted the review to go through Google, Facebook, Yahoo or Other. Don’t personally like the first three so I chose Other. The problem is that Other takes you to Angie’s List and they wanted more personal info than the first three, so I chose this method. Completely satisfied except for the review/feedback procedure.
I had an opportunity to observe Earl Farley conduct an inspection on a friend’s furnace. My friend was frantic. She was having problems with her furnace staying on and heating the house. She called a heating business and they sent someone who told her her furnace was not the right size for the house and she needed a new furnace (they didn’t even look at the filter). After recommending to her to get a second opinion, she called Zenner & Ritter. Mr. Earl Farley came to her home, did an inspection and told her that the furnace was fine and explained exactly how the furnace operates, pulled out the clogged filter, showed why the furnace shuts off, the furnace capacity, explained things in a way that was perfectly clear, and the call and inspection were free. My friend was so relieved because at this time of year, December, she was not in a position to spend more than $3,000. Though it was not my furnace, I was so impressed, I felt the need to let Zenner & Ritter know about this outstanding experience and professionalism shown by your representative. I asked for his card and will keep it handy for myself and anyone else who asks for a recommendation.

My AC’s compressor burnt out during the hottest day in June. Since my HVAC has been more than 30 years old, I thought I might as well replace both AC and Furnace together. I got three contractors came into my house for estimate which I was glad I did, because by such comparison, I could identify that Zenner & Ritter offered the best customer service, best price, and best HVAC configuration based on my home size and need. Z&B carries several brands with different product features while the other contractors only carry one brand. Per my request Z&R worked relentlessly and gave me four estimates of different brands. I finally nailed down to my favorite brand and features with deep discounts. Moreover, I did not have to wait longer to get the new HVAC, Z&R had its technicians came to my home the very next day and got all installation completely flawlessly!

I had Zenner and Ritter come out for duct cleaning. Brandon and Scott were very professional and thorough. They answered my questions, explained the process, were very neat and did a great job with the tools they had. Unfortunately my expectation was not met. I was very disappointed with the results as I knew there was more to be cleaned. After several phone calls to Z & R, and research on Brandon’s side, Zenner & Ritter recognized that they needed to change things and to make things right with me. They purchased additional equipment and re-cleaned my ducts at no charge. Brandon and Scott went above and beyond to ensure I was more than satisfied with the results, which I was. Thanks guys! With this new equipment, I am happy to recommend Z&R (Brandon and Scott) for duct cleaning. Brandon and Scott take Customer Service to a new level.
Kyle Mahoney, a technician from Zenner & Ritter Service Team came to my house after hours to fix emergency heating problem. The problem was fixed in a very short time, of course all credit goes to Mr. Mahoney who did an excellent job to resolve the heating issues in my house in a professional manner. Needed maintenance on my furnace which I had bought from Zenner & Ritter. Technician Kevin Ring came to my home within the expected arrival time and diagnosed the problem and after retrieving the parts needed to resolve the issue he quickly went to work. The text messaging and call when technician was on his way kept me informed. Dan M was very polite and informative. Advised me of maintenance that I should do to extend the life of the furnace.
Gary came out and took care of everything! Very efficient, knowledgeable, courteous, and respectful. Awesome guy, great service and very reasonable. I will definitely be calling them in the future – and requesting Gary – when I need them.

Today, a service tech named Gary came to my residence to repair my a/c. He was polite, did his job professionally and answered all my questions. Zenner & Ritter is lucky to have this tech/
Keith came out and installed a new furnace. Very friendly, professional, polite. I am very happy with the service, and so far the furnace is working quite well. They were also very respectful of the house and took their shoes off before coming into the home, unprompted from me.
My furnace broke down in the middle of winter- I asked a few friends for referrals and Zenner & Ritter was mentioned by more than one friend. So I called them and they came out within a couple hours. The tech was extremely nice and friendly. After his recommendation to replace the furnace, I did so with Zenner & Ritter. (BTW he was not pushy, he basically said that I need to replace it but I can go with anyone I choose for the new furnace)! He recommended surprisingly the most cost effective one, which I trusted and went with. (Many companies would try to get you to get the most expensive product and be pushy about it). This tech was not, which I appreciated. After I chose what I wanted, they were out the next morning installing it. So far, works well. All the techs that came out were really nice. Spoke to Nathan from Z&R on the phone, very nice and professional.
Would definitely recommend. After speaking with Nathan, I am confident that if any problems arise, he’d make sure his customer is happy. Thank you Nathan and to the techs who helped me out at Z&R!
This is to RAVE about the service that your company provided in response to my recent request to diagnose the furnace problem in my home From the first call that I placed – to every phone call returned thereafter including Gene the Service Manager office assistants – to Steve who diagnosed the problem – and finally to Keith who installed the new furnace – EVERYTHING was done with great respect, professionalism, friendliness, and quality. I received calls back as promised Now that’s a rarity in today’s world of contractors Prices did not change. Another rarity. Steve Keith were on time – another rarity. And, Keith the installer went the extra mile explaining everything to me, cleaning up, and replacing filters He also called the next day in follow up to a question I had. He obviously is a happy employee, and this company is to be complimented on the quality people they have working for them. I would recommend their services anytime to anyone…keep up the good work! I am a single mom and I have to be able to trust the companies I use to do repairs for me. This is one that I DO! a few years ago I had them install central air in my home. The istallers did a wonderful job. They even checked out the furnace and found the heat exchanger was cracked. This crack could have let CO into my home if I had used the furnace. I had justed purchased the house and had a home inspection done before I purchased. The inspector missed the crack ! I had Zenner & Ritter install a Heil furnace that work great! These guys are the BEST!

I’m very pleased with Z&R from the initial contact up to now with everything installed and running. We didn’t even know we qualified for the NYSERDA deal where they basically pay for half of all energy star systems you get installed. Earl (the point man) explained everything very clearly, was helpful with questions and was a great guide through the NY State rebate maze. As for installation; they said, “two guys, two days” and that’s pretty much it, though it was, in reality, two guys and one and a half days. These guys /go to work/! They introduced themselves, and went, immediately, into the cellar and started the job. These are true professionals, they adapted the furnace, A/C, and tankless water heater on the spot to the buildings shape and size and did so in a way that was efficient, clean and uncluttered. If your rushing to find a quality outfit with knowledge that will hold your hand from start to finish…go with Z&R.
I just had a heating / cooling system installed. Bob Fraser, my salesman was very professional and answered all my questions. He was particularly responsive to my needs and what I wanted. Others quoted what they wanted! He made suggestions not demands and was encouraging me to ask questions during the selling process. He did not try to over sell me. He even offered to evaluate the other quotes if I wanted. Jeremy and his helper were very professional in the installation process. They allowed me to look over their shoulder during the whole process. That showed confidence in their work and knowledge. His suggestion to relocate the A/C to the corner of the yard as opposed to my original location was a good one. A potential electrical problem was quickly assessed, and resolved without incident. I would highly recommend Zenner & Ritter for all your heating and cooling needs.
Have had nothing but good experiences with Z&R from the original purchase of the furnace/boiler to annual maintenance and repairs. They have been quick to respond in bad weather emergency service calls and prices are certainly competitive. Would not hesitate and have not hesitated to recommend them to friends and family.
